Jenny (Registered Clinical Counsellor #10525) specializes in counselling children and youth and their families in addition to working with individual adults. She has a warm, genuine, and engaging approach as she joins each individual on their journey, striving for emotional health and harmonious relationships. She views counselling as a “partnership” with each person to ensure her flexible therapeutic approach fits their needs and unique circumstances. Jenny collaborates with each individual and their families to address anxiety, depression, anger management, emotional regulation, family and marital relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, among other issues.
She has specialized training in EMDR, DBT, and Expressive Arts (Play) Therapy and is an eclectic therapist who draws from additional therapeutic approaches Family Systems, Mindful CBT, Narrative, and Solution-focused therapies. She has specialized experience working with children with Autistic diagnoses and working with the local Indigenous communities. As a Christian, she comes from a spiritual focus for individuals requesting this but is glad to counsel any person regardless of their personal world view or spiritual background.
Jenny had graduated with her Masters of Counselling degree in 2002 from Trinity Western University. Besides previous years of experience as Child and Youth Mental Health Therapist with MCFD, she has had additional experience as a college educator, social worker, foster parent, and consultant.
She is registered with ICBC, CVAP, Autism Funding and FNHA.
